A song sung in the camp near Gołąb _ Composed by Princess Izabela Czartoryska, General of the Podolia lands, 1791.
Hey!… hey knights!
Our hearts are filled with joy,
That you love us.
Long live Poland!… Long live virtue!
Long live our golden freedom
When we have you.
Hey!… hey knights!
Delicious feathers on their heads,
The face of every Mars…
He has a weapon flashing in his hand,
This horse is sprayed with fire,
They won't recognize us.
Hey!… hey on the meadow,
The leader rolls on his brave horse,
Behind him is our youth.
Your courage, your work,
Our eyes are turning around,
Return here to us, return.
Hey!…hey weapons!
Your leaders, beautiful men,
Our hearts grow.
Oh! … I have a boyfriend here too,
I will train him to be a soldier,
Just like myself.
Hey!…hey countrymen!
After this dust, after this work,
I will give you an allowance.
We brought bread with us.
And only in the house of heaven
I have dates for you.
Hey!…hey young men,
In the field of fame the wreaths bloom,
I will adorn you.
I am not afraid of the pagan,
Neither Muscovite nor Turkish,
You will protect us.
Hey!… hey knights!
Our hearts are filled with joy,
That you love us.
Long live Poland!… Long live virtue!
Long live our golden freedom
When we have you.
